Do you really want to be a murderer?

I think not, when you go to the beach or a forest or a zoo you see these beautiful birds that roam around, and you stare at them soar across the sky. Turns out that you might be killing them just so you can be happy for one day or just a few hours. When a party is over, do you ever wonder where the balloons go? Well, they float away, and birds swallow them which makes them sick or might even cause death. So, let us start to ban balloons or find alternatives that can be as equally as fun. We are already starting to ban mass production of balloons in places, like California, Florida, Tennesse but a lot of people in different places still don’t know what those rubber bags filled with air do to the wonderful creatures on the earth.

Balloons killed almost one in five of the seabirds that ingested them, and 100,000 animals have died from just balloons. Banning balloons is an important step to decreasing the deaths of seabirds and other animals. We’ve been using so much of our time worrying about single use plastics such as straws and plastic bags, but many people already know about the harm that plastic bags and straws, so we need to start looking at other items that do the same thing to poor creatures on our planet.  Any type of plastic is not good for seabirds, but Australian researchers have found that balloon bits are a deadly threat to marine life.

Who wouldn’t be attracted to a colourful ball floating in the sky? I mean I would, but I know not to eat it because it isn’t good for me, but seabirds don’t really have the ability to identify what is good for them to eat. Balloons are one of the deadliest threats to seabirds. ON THE OCEAN CONSERVANCY'S LIST of trash that kills seabirds, turtles and other marine life, balloons rank No. 3.

It is time for us to start to take action on this matter and make sure that the innocent birds on our planet should not die from balloons. Let’s ban balloons for good and find better as well as fun alternatives that doesn’t use plastic or do any harm to any of the marine life or the seabirds in our planet.
