With Greene County being so big, we need to open back up Takoma Hospital. It would open up more jobs, possibly save a life by being closer for someone in a dyer situation, open up more beds for people who need overnight care, and also cut down on high volume times at Laughlin. It would make so much more sense to open it back up. Think about it, if someone is having a heart attack, they have but for so long to get help. If that person lives in the South Greene area, it would help crucially to be closer at Takoma. Instead of fighting traffic down Tusculum, into Laughlin. We need two hospitals. There are smaller counties that have 2 operational hospitals. Opening back up could also cut down on people waiting to have surgeries that they may need. Also, now that we only have one hospital, people get transferred out to other hospitals, due to all of the beds being full here. If we had two, it would cut down on people having to be transferred to Johnson City, or even Knoxville. Being sick is hard, but being further away from family makes it harder.
