Addressing mental health issues is a personal process that takes its own time. The lovely people at Ball State's counseling center offers free therapeutic sessions with any interested Ball State student. The catch is the 12-session limit for the academic year-that's not even once a week! Asking students to rush through this healing process is immoral and counterproductive, BSU Mental Health is striving to get this cap increased if not completely abolished.

Unfortunately to get this cap raised we need to address a more immediate issue; resources to the counseling center. For all t he money we as students pay, all the federal money Ball State receives, and all of the profit Ball State makes from parking and dining, we DO have the resources, they just aren't being used in the right places. For example Ball State makes over $3million from dining alone a year (think about that the next time you skip a meal swipe!) Please sign the petition if you would like to see steps taken towards better funding of the counseling center, the first step in getting this cap raised!
