We are aware that the CDC is revoking mask mandates in non high-risk areas, however, the arrival of students back on-campus after spring break creates increased risk for transmission. We ask that this removal of the mask mandate be delayed at least 2 weeks after our return to campus.

Currently, Baldwin Wallace's reported Covid-19 cases are not representative of the actual numbers on-campus, as surveillance testing is no longer in effect. As such, these decisions being made without a full understanding of our current state of Covid.

The vaccination rate on-campus is only 75%, meaning that 1 in 4 students are unvaccinated. That means that a fourth of our campus is not protected from Covid.

Again, we understand that this decision was made in accordance with the new CDC guidelines, but ask that this action be taken 2 weeks after our arrival back on-campus to protect us from the danger of increased transmission after travel.

This is putting all students and faculty, especially those who are immunocompromised, in danger. Baldwin Wallace should be a safe place for all students to study.
