Help prevent the overdevelopment of the site on Hamlet Lane, Balbriggan

Jennifer Mahon started this petition to Balbriggan residents and

The proposed development F20A/0323 to build 2 apartment blocks comprising of a 4 storey and 5 storey block to house 28 apartments on a site that previously housed 1 bungalow, in our opinion should not be granted permission to be built.  The adjoining site of Bremore Castle consists mainly of 2 storey houses and would be overshadowed by this and cause serious overlooking due to the balconies at the rear and ruin the residential amenity of the area.

The site also contains many mature trees and houses beautiful wildlife and birds.  Bremore Castle has no green space and these trees are an important public amenity.

The proposal takes no cognisance of the setting of the site. In particular it's role on the streetscape at this location on Hamlet Lane and if permitted would harm the visual amenities of the area. The proposal would cause injury to the character and visual amenities of the area and permitting same would be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.

The subject development would if permitted set an undesirable precedent for other similar developments, which would in themselves and cumulatively be harmful to the residential amenities of the area, would seriously injure the amenities and depreciate the value of property in the vicinity.

Please show your support in opposing this planning application by signing the petition.  Thank you.
