Make Pig Island Exuma A Protected Park

This petition had 372 supporters

It is reported that the feral pigs of Exuma ,which has become a popular attraction, are cared for collectively by locals who chip in. The animals are said to be descendants of early settlers or pirates, but there are few remaining on the cay. Recently , half died of poisoning despite pigs having a broad diet. This petition requests for Pig Island to officially become a park where the national trust monitors their protection offering guides and ensures adequate care of the sought after wildlife.

According to one tour's facebook page , "Not all visits to the island are monitored and therein lies the potential risk".
