Having a partially verbal child who is completely unable to tell us what happens at school requires ongoing communication with teachers and job coaches in a variety of modes, most importantly, direct conversation in person and by phone. At this point,  parents of special needs students in the Babylon School district jobs program are not permitted to speak directly with the job coaches who act as the lead teacher in the room for 4 periods a day. This policy is both discriminatory and dangerous for our special needs population in Babylon.
