When is this country finally going to respect and protect heritage on all levels? So many other countries understand the importance of heritage. Australia complains that we as a country haven't existed for long yet, and are still trying to find our way, but then continues to destroy everything, even things that don't belong to them or are of no significance to them as they are not descendants of certain cultures (like everything Aboriginal), that is seen and regarded as heritage!

So what is wrong with that picture?

Important buildings from the 50s should be retained. Boyd’s designs are iconic & too important as a part of the cultural landscape of the time.

Is terrible how anyone can be a property developer now. All a developer needs is money and they can do as they please. A property developer recently purchased every home on one side of an entire neighbourhood street in Bayside!! The suburbs are being stripped of their character with the removal of homes with backyards that are being replaced with homogenised box-like structures and fewer trees. Property development only ever benefits the developer and not the community!!

It is a beautifully designed, heritage house. Why would anyone want to pull it down other than to build something totally inappropriate to the surrounding area?
