Hailey Bory started this petition to Ayersville Schools Principals

Dress codes are meant to keep student's bodies covered. However, some schools sexualize their dress codes. For example, females cannot wear "tank tops" unless the sleeves are thicker than a teacher's three fingers, index finger, ring finger, and middle finger. Now to the males, you aren't allowed to wear muscle shirts, you're dress code rules are looser because you're male. I don't find this very fair for the females. Over half of the 7th grade in Ayersville was dress coded. All of them being girls. You can't be allowed to sexualize a 13 year old girl. Some of the high schoolers were dress coded for the same reasons a 13 year old girl is being dress coded for. Boys, you have a looser dress code rule set, while the girls feel like we have to wear pants and long sleeves all year for fear of being dress coded. If we can get enough signatures, I will take this to the principals and let them see for themselves how many people feel rejected due to the dress code.
