Lakshmi (name changed) works in the banking sector. She is demotivated because she sees no women at the managerial levels posing a lack of role models for her. These role models who could provide her mentorship and understand her problems on more a real level. 

“India’s GDP can increase by whopping 27% if the number of female workers increases to the same level as men,” said IMF chief, Christine Lagarde. India ranks 120 among 131 countries when it comes to number of women in labor force. Axis Bank already has a progressive hiring policy.

According to McKinsey, the most gender-diverse companies are 21% more like to experience above-average profitability.

Enhancing gender diversity is a key focus area in the people development agenda of Axis Bank.
