Season 21 of Axie Infinity : Bloodmoon Rising has previously been announced as potentially the official last season in V2, the current version of the NFT Play-to-Earn game Axie Infinity (Source), before fully transitioning to the new game version Axie Infinity : Origin.

Today, Phillip La, Game Product Lead of Sky Mavis started a Twitter thread regarding discussions of potentially removing S21 AXS distribution, and redistributing it to the official season launch for Origin (source). As a proactive community member and competitive player, I believe I stand for a majority of competitive players out there who are opposed to the idea.

1. There are 43 ongoing or yet-to-start Axie Esports Grant tournaments planned between time of writing and end of June. All of these events are planned to run on V2, and fully transitioning into V3 ahead of time will cause significant integrity issues as we move into an unfinished, unpolished product. This is an allocation of 4760 AXS that may be moved to future events, but significantly affects organisers who have secured sponsors and/or logistics for the event, not to mention playing on an untested game engine.
   
   
2. Moving into an unfinished product in Origin would mean extended durations of no earnings as any significant bugs or issues with Origin may cause inflation or problems with tokenomics in the short term.
   
   
3. The shift of saving leaderboard AXS earnings to S1 of Origin, and keeping V2 for SLP earnings is completely useless for competitive players, a minority but major token-burning community. Players will lose interest and move on from the game completely.
   
   
4. Breeders have continued burning SLP and AXS in preparations of S21. Removing it will be a major blow to their investments with little to no way of recovering it.

In short, unless the development team at Sky Mavis is confident that Origin will be battle-tested and competitively ready within the next 30 days, it is unfeasible and frankly a terrible move to remove S21 from the picture.
