Karen Chervak started this petition to Avon CT TPZ and town manager

Both Waterville Road in Avon and the Rivermead Condominium Complex are in danger of suffering adverse effects from the Lee Land Development proposal to add 270 units to their existing complex of 170 units.   This development could add 300 or more cars to the daily traffic on Waterville Road.   It will also entail cutting down many, many trees, adversely affecting local wildlife.   There is a magnet school on the road leading to the current complex (Avonwood Road). The plans will require an emergency access road to be cut through our Rivermead Complex - right next to several units.   We fear our property values and quality of life will be affected by this.  Does the town really need another 270 units of housing?   And does Waterville Road need an additional 300 cars driving through on a daily basis?

Is this the type of development that members of the TPZ and town council would welcome to their neighborhood?   The developer claims this is different from the Nod Road request because the new buildings aren't visible from the road.   But they ARE visible from our complex - in fact they will be built only 30 FEET from our property.   People choose Avon as their home because of the quiet, rural nature of the town.
