Avoid Health & Social Care Crisis - Stop Mandatory Covid Vaccine Requirements
In April 2022, an estimated 126,000 NHS workers (10% total) will be required to leave their post due to choosing not to have the recognised COVID-19 Vaccination.
This comes following a record number of NHS staff (2% total) leaving their post over the last year of the current pandemic.
The NHS is already struggling from staffing numbers and poor funding without losing 10% of its workforce unnecessarily!
Further to this, the Health & Social Care sector is far larger than the NHS alone! Many more staff across the country are also now coming to terms with the decision the made government. Many of whom have spent years doing a job they love, working with some of the UK's most vulnerable people.
Years of experience, qualifications and training are set to be flushed away with no thought to how the knowledge and manpower is going to be replaced!
The COVID pandemic has been awful, no doubt about that, it has been a difficult time for many involved on the frontline, they have seen the effects of isolation, seen the anger and frustration too. Yet they have got on with their work each day, and continued to treat people, help others, and be a credit to the nation.
For nearly a year the public gathered on doorsteps, cheers, clapped and banged pots and pans to show support for the sector.
The situation with COVID is changing daily, the latest variant appears to be far less dangerous, compared to previous ones. Yet it is now that the vaccine is being made mandatory for the Health & Social Sector.
I myself had my vaccine back in February 2021, but as we now know the protection from this wanes, and in November 2021 I contracted the COVID virus. In the very best of circumstances the vaccine protected me for 8 months, but who can really say when it truly lost its effectiveness.
Data is also suggesting that the vaccines are less effective with each new variety of COVID, with current estimates stating to be fully protected you would need a COVID booster at least every two months!
I believe it is now time to reconsider the mandatory vaccine policy due to come into law in April 2022.
