Keep Avenue Primary A Community School

The National Union of Teachers at Avenue Primary believe every child deserves a qualified teacher. We know that whatever any MAT (Multi-Academy Trust) promises at the beginning, things can change to the detriment of pupils, parents and staff. This is because:
MATs are freed from government regulations - free to hire unqualified teachers, reduce support staff and reduce services to (or stop taking) children with Special Needs.
Nationally, academies do NOT improve pupil attainment! In fact Analysis of 2015 data showed Primary academies' results increased at a SLOWER rate than similar non-academies.
Avenue Primary is a 'good' school. We are not failing or coasting. Why change?
