This petition is created by cosmetology student for cosmetology students. We go to cosmetology school to learn and practice everything about hair. How is it that we cannot practice on each other? Not meaning color, but at least styling. If we are allowed to, it’s for 1 day and what our instructors tell us to do. And that is if we are even ALLOWED to. Help us prove to our parent corporations that we should be able to practice on each other instead of a mannequin all the time. There is a MAJOR difference from a mannequin and a real human head. It would benefit us as students so we can have fun with each other while also learning something new to add to our tool belts. In cosmetology school you only learn the very basics of hair. If we could practice on each other we’d have an even bigger opportunity with even more education to indulge in something completely different than what we are used to. Like I said, mannequins are just not the same as real human heads. Each person has a different shaped head, so learning to navigate more unique head shaped will help us in the long run. We as students come here to have fun doing something we love, and are passionate about. How are we supposed to be passionate about our dreams if we are not even allowed to have fun & explore more about this world? Help us change this, so your future hairstylist & enthusiasts will LOVE what they are doing and actually stay in this industry.
