Dr Katherine Kemp, a data privacy specialist at the University of New South Wales has raised real concerns about the security of health records held in a government database.  In particular the inability of Government to guarantee de-identification of individual health data for research and any other purpose.  See more at Data privacy expert recommends opting out of proposed e-health scheme

As a member of the dHealthNetwork.io I believe that the sovereignty of health data rests with the individual and not with any government or corporation. Therefore I urge readers of this petition to support this principle by signing on as follows:  We of the undersigned demand that the onus be placed on the government to prove the quality of data management and security aligned with the E Health Strategy [Australian Government|Health Department] to allow individuals to make informed choice on whether they opt in rather than this being the default position.
