Department of Corrections and Law enforcement has been under scrutiny for blatant, avoidable killings. Our beloved Dennis was literally fed to his attacker by Law enforcement and now we are amongst the many families that have had to receive a call saying that our loved one have died while in the custody of Law Enforcement or while trying to be put into custody of Law Enforcement and expected to just "let it go"! Dennis' family has over 42 years of dedication to Law Enforcement so we know there are GOOD Law Enforcement out there but the George Floyd case and cases alike show you that there is a systematic racism that exists and those who are in custody DO NOT stand a chance at the basic civil rights that a human deserves.  We the people MUST be a voice for those that can no longer cry. 

          The law suits and arrests of Law Enforcement are piling up and in a mass attempt to cover up the cause of deaths and delay investigations of a non biased party the various law enforcement agencies are PROHIBITING the Medical Examiners Office from releasing a report to the family for months and sometimes years without no other excuse other than the "the case is pending investigation".  That is merely a delay to make sure the witnesses and staff can no longer be exact in the details, the body is buried and the family is no longer motivated to fight.  This should be unlawful because a family have the right to know the exact cause of death of a loved one especially when the loved one was in the custody of the responsible party, in the custody of the ones who are delaying the autopsy report.  Furthermore, how can the party that should be investigated be the ones delaying the reports due to their independent investigators that refuse to interview witnesses at their discretion and that may or may not be at fault?  It is unjust and wrong for Medical Examiners paid by tax payers to be prohibited to deliver a public request for the report until the authority that is at fault is finished delaying their investigation either deliberately or by way of their ancient protocols.  How can the family gain closure?  How can the senseless deaths be prevented for others if we can't address the suspect and the scenarios that led to the deaths in a timely manner?  We are begging anyone that has a family member that is in custody of Law Enforcement or that fear their loved ones can be killed at the hands of Law Enforcement to sign this petition to make Law enforcement and the Medical Examiners office be transparent and release the autopsy report in a timely manner rather or not the responsible party's investigation is complete.  WE need the autopsy to start our investigation.  IF the responsible party is not at fault, transparency should not be a problem.  All parties should have the equal amount of time to investigate the same evidence (autopsy report).  We are afraid that the 1000's of pending cases will never be solved and therefore the killers will never be held accountable because the reports are not being released to non biased parties to review due to the biased investigation being deliberately delayed.
