To stop the closing of Wirral's Step into Work program for students with Autism!

Step into a work is a fantastic free service provided by Autism Together in order to help vulnerable students with autism find the confidence and skills to enroll into college or enter the work place. It also enables invaluable opportunities for friendships and development of social and life skills.
Step into Work has helped 40+ students into work as well as many others into college, volunteer placements and training programmes and has been recognised for its efforts by winning 3 national awards! We have personal experience with this life changing service as my own brother who has autism attended their programme and is now a passionate volunteer. Beforehand he lived in his bedroom and only came downstairs to collect his dinner plate. Thanks to SIW he holds down a 5 days a week volunteer job, has made friends he regularly socialises with and has become a much more confident and happy person. We couldn't be more proud of him and grateful to SIW for all their efforts.
Unfortunately Autism together has made the decision to close Step into Work as of December 2017 (next month) despite having been awarded the majority of the funding by the European Social Fund until July 2018. They would just have to make up the shortfall as they have done every other year (around £28 000). They have however decided against this. We ask you to sign this petition into order to enable Step into Work the opportunity to at least stay open until the European Social Finding has ran out.
