AUT could always introduce an "autumn learning year" like Waikato University, which enables students (who want to) start again from the 28th April - December 20th and also have their normal semester model for those who want that.

I’m signing because I didn’t do any work in the first four weeks of uni and catching up now would take a lot of effort. So here’s to starting fresh with block study! God’s plan or whaaa

Im signing as this learning sounded like a great structure for us, from focusing on one paper a block sounds like a great way to get everything you need for the exam 

I am not an AUT student but my partner is and I may consider switching from my uni. It is strange and sad that the decision to tread new waters would be thrown out over one group rather than hearing all sides. The block learning model may provide grounding in this year of disruptions and uncertainty. My partner has already signed. Please consider opening the matter to transparent discourse and hearing what students want for their learning experience.
