Josephine Lemon started this petition to Australian Rugby League Commission

After 25 years the Canberra Raiders made the 2019 NRL Grand Final.  A great achievement for a club who has struggled to get back into form.

Lucky enough to be there on the night to cheer the boys on but very disappointed at the outcome not because of sour grapes but because there were several incidents and bad referee decisions that clearly cost the Raiders the game.

In the early part of the game there was interference by a Roosters staffer who should not have been on the field; inconsistency with the refereeing - approving six tackles in favour of the Raiders then rescinding; and there should be a review on a quick tackle/release policy.

All through the league season the refereeing has left a lot to be desired with constant inconsistencies.  There does not seem to be the high level and skills in refereeing. Relying too much on the video ref and referees not being able to make clear, concise decisions and sticking with them.  Do we need the referees or should the video refs call the shots?

The referees should be there to facilitate the contest, and not decide the outcome.

Our coach, players, club can’t speak because they’ll get fined but as supporters we can.

The Australian Rugby League Commission needs to review it’s refeering processes and standards.  It’s in the interest of the game and all the clubs!
