British or Australian can sign a waiver to receive blood irrelevant of CJD

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Currently those who lived or resided in the UK between 1980 - 1996 for more than 6 months cannot donate blood in Australia.

Those who have o-neg blood group should be able to donate.  Australians and British who in the UK would receive blood from those in this situation if they reside in the UK currently should be able to sign a waiver to receive blood irrespective of the CJD (Mad Cow) implications!

Currently as a o-neg blood group I cannot donate to friends, family or anyone in the case of an emergency and o-neg blood is in short supply!  There are many regulary willing to donate and many who would chose to bypass the CJD implications given a choice and the risk associated to receive blood in an emergency of life or death situation.
