Australian Post bring back the EMS service to Cuba
Why this petition matters
My name is Alina, and I'm writing on behalf of the Cuban community in Australia. We need the Australian Post to bring EMS service back to Cuba. Our families in Cuba are having the worse time ever. They need our urgent assistance with food, medicine, and even essential items we take for granted here in Australia. They cannot wait 3 and 4 months for the food or medicine to arrive via sea. In addition, there is no guarantee that the parcel will arrive or deliver to our family. No insurance will spare us from thieves at the Cuban ports. It is a matter of life and death.
If we can't send the parcel to our family, we will not have another choice but to buy low-quality food on the Cuban government websites. These sites are selling low-quality and unhealthy food to the family of the people in Cuba living overseas at high prices in American dollars. The Cuban government uses the earnings from those fraud websites to buy infrastructure for the military and the police, which in Cuba ARE COMPLETELY AGAINST THE PEOPLE AND anyone who opposes the Cuban communist system. They are not using the money earned through this thieve website to invest in the Cuban people and guarantee electricity, clean and running water, food, medicine, hospital, and ambulances. No, they use the money to train the military and the police, to buy arms and military infrastructure, but not to spare the Cuban people from a life full of misery and indignity. Our parents are old and hungry, and they need medicine. We have to send the parcel to the USA or another country, risk the parcel return, and then pay again for the package to be sent to Cuba. That if you know someone in another country. Please, please, re-start the EMS service to Cuba, so we can send them quality food and medicine and the things they need, not the rubbish that the Cuban government buy who knows where and resale them to us at exorbitant prices.
Thank you
