I'm concerned about the hundreds of thousands of people who will be travelling to Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne this month.  I'm concerned about the local Melbournians.  I'm concerned about all people who live in Australia.

I believe that having a mass gathering event like this is irresponsible amid the deadly Coronavirus outbreak.  World Health Organisation has updated that the fatality rate for Covid-19 is 3.4%.

So far Australian Grand Prix Corporation has not made any plans to cancel or reschedule this event.  The government has not made any plans on how they are going to deal with the consequences of mass infections due to such an event.

It's not a question whether such an event will cause mass infections.  It's only a question how many people will get infected.  The infection rate on Diamond Princess is about 20%.  I'm extremely concerned that a similar disaster occurs in Australia if we allow this event to go ahead.

Please think about the elderly, the children, the immune compromised, the diabetic, the asthmatic and every person who lives in Australia.  Nobody is immune to this virus.  Once the outbreak is out of control, Australian hospitals simply do NOT have the capacity to treat every severely infected person who desperately needs treatment.  People could die from Covid-19.  More people could die from lack of treatment.

Your signature and support is really appreciated.

Thank you.
