A large outbreak of novel coronavirus is quickly spreading throughout China, originating in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The virus is quickly spreading with more and more cases appearing world wide. To date currently, there has been 7 confirmed cases of the new virus throughout Australia. This virus is suspected to spread through the infected droplets from infected people by coughing or sneezing primarily. This means that while at school, there can be a high level of contamination from student to student from one infected child. The virus can spread from one contaminated student to up to 14 others, creating a rapid contamination throughout a school. Our proposition is that all Australian public & private schools be close for quarantine purposes for 14 days. This would ensure that all affected students will be quarantined and will prevent it from being spread to more children and prevent it from spreading further in Australia.
