Pensioners need to be able to go overseas for more than a month.

Currently, some pensioners are restricted from going overseas for any more than four weeks-down now from six weeks. Why this happens is purely at the whim, of a federal government that seems to be doing this just because they can. If any pensioner can, actually, save from their pension in order to go and see friends or relatives overseas, there should be no reasonable restriction on them time-wise, especially in the case of people on Disability Pensions who simply cannot work because of their particular maladies. Pensioners used to be able to live overseas almost permanently, only having to return every 3-6 months to continue their eligibility. Not being able to go for more than four weeks, in my instance, is quite cruel, as saving for the fare would be from a zero start, so a trip OS would not happen very often. The government's attitude is just totally mean-spirited.
My main reason for wanting to go overseas is to see the love of my life, whom I met 25 years ago and have been so far able to spend only some nine weeks with, having lost track of her for 23 years. I think that is a good reason for spending a couple of months away.
