We are calling on the Australian Government and the Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward MP, alongside the Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth, and Women, Bronwyn Taylor MP, to bring to parliament the URGENT need to pass legislation pertaining to MANDATORY  psychiatric and ongoing counselling treatment for perpetrators of Domestic violence, anyone with an AVO against their name, in an effort to de-escalate the risk of heightened tragedy occurring to those at risk. We implore legislators to consider that it should not be solely the responsibility of victims to seek mental health support in the wake of a domestic violence incident, but that mental health services should be empowered to enact MANDATORY psych assessment and treatment for all PERPETRATORS, in an effort to keep the Australian people safe. Please sign this important petition, In the name of all victims of domestic violence who have been victims of repeat offence, and potentially suffered grave consequences after their plight was already known to authorities.
