We are seeking to ban the practice of posting alleged crimes online. We believe that the latest craze of posting alleged shoplifting and theft offences is damaging to the whole community at large.  It is also against Facebook  policies to name and shame. These businesses seem to get away with it as they post and after a day or so remove the post. But the damage to reputations  has been done.

We are of the belief that many minor crimes are committed by people that are undergoing a combination of financial, emotional and/or addiction issues. These videos that have been posted online may continue long after the alleged perpetrator has passed through the legal system. And in many cases have been used to bully and intimidate the victims. We believe in  ( innocent until proven guilty ) and the right to a fair trial without further repercussions. We worry about teenagers and/or young adults committing suicide or becoming addicted to substances because of the shame and embarrassment of these postings.

We do not condone breaking the law but people do make mistakes and it is unfortunate that these may influence the rest of their personal and/or working life.
We believe that posting these types of Videos  should be classed as a hate crime and outlawed.
