Fair pay for Ski and Snowboard Instructors
Fair pay for Ski and Snowboard Instructors

It’s it a fair expectation to turn up to work and be paid for your time? For to long Ski and Snowboard Instructors in Australia have been taken advantage off.
Instructors are expected to turn up at their designated start time with no guarantee of receiving work or fair compensation. Ski Resorts take advantage of Instructors making them wait for lessons without paying them.
The Alpine Resorts Award allows employers to make staff wait with no compensation for this time. While some resorts go above the award and pay for only 2 hours while they still require the employee to be on site for more then double that time.
This needs to change and a fair solution needs to be implemented where instructors are compensated for their time. I call for the Fair Work Ombudsmen aswell as both the state and federal Australian Governments to put a stop to this. Lets band together to effect a change in the Australian ski and snowboard industry.
