As you well know, we have mandatory vaccinations occurring across various industries in Australia, which includes the health, social and education sectors along with many more fields. Since we are beings of choice who live in a supposed democratic society; many skilled workers have declined in receiving the current vaccines on offer, for various reasons, so are no longer gainfully employed in our economy.

Some of us who have chosen not to receive the current vaccines, will however, be willing to get the protein based Novavax vaccine that is still waiting approval by the TGA.(1)  The PM has "indicated that 51 million NOVAVAX vaccines will be available by the end of the year if it passes safety approvals" (2). These approvals, though they have more historical evidence than the current available vaccines, have been further delayed because of financial commitments and for other various reasons (3). The the high efficacy results in clinical trials around the world also make it a strong booster candidate. (4)

As citizens of Australia with rights, let us exercise our 'Freedom of Choice' with our short and long term health decisions and request that Novavax be brought to the table as an other provisional option by the 27th of December 2021. Also, that consideration of the first dose of Novavax be taken into account in our places of employment, so that not only can the next round of skilled workers who are about to lose their employment have a choice to stay, but all those who have walked away from their professions with heavy hearts, can once again contribute to Australia's health, safety, growth and education!
