Let post 2001 New Zealand migrants join the Australian armed forces

At this point in time anyone who has migrated to Australia from New Zealand since 2001 is automatically put on a 'Special Category Visa'. This means they can live, work and pay taxes in Australia as long as they wish, however they are never allowed to become permanent residents or citizens of Australia. Therefore they cannot join the armed forces, or customs etc to defend and protect the country they live in and love because they are not 'citizens'. This is not the way to honour and respect the ANZACS who fell together to protect our countries. Let the young people of this fine country join the forces regardless of whether they are born in New Zealand or Australia and keep the spirit of ANZAC alive.
