Australia's beaches are public property, and the public have a right to access them anytime, without fees. Councils already make a fortune from the exorbitant car parking fees they charge near the beach. Waverley councillors who support the Amalfi proposal should be sacked.

If people lack income because they are keeping others safe, we should be obliged to keep them safe.

This is a question of both ethics and forward planning; one of the issues highlighted by the pandemic in America is the inability of casual/low income earners to self-isolate due to a lack of financial support. They are put into a position where they potentially have needed to pick personal survival or the potential to infect others.

We should not put our fellow Aussies into this position. It's not safe for anyone.

What a joke....the very government who created this economic mess now will not help the very people affected. Not everyone has access to someone who will help them get even the basics, let alone medication etc. I mean why would this government do this to our most vulnerable. It is disgusting beyond belief. If you quarantine someone ensure that they receive food, medication....basics to survive...or is that the point. Just another figure for your Covid19 story I guess. These people are effectively in jail and even inmates receive the basics, actually more than the basics....think and care, show some compassion
