Tell the Australian Government to Allow Non-Citizen Expecting Parents Into the Country

Please help us be together in Australia for the birth of our first child during this COVID-19 crisis!

Help us create change and plead that expecting parents should be allowed back into the country on a compassionate travel request.

The Australian Border Force and the Commissioner, Michael Outram, are preventing non-Citizen partners from flying into Australia in order to be here for the birth of our first child if they do not qualify for a Partner Visa yet.

Hi, my name is Mez. I'm an Aussie citizen and my American partner Chris and I are expecting our first child in a few short months. We were given 2 days to return to Australia before they would close the borders to non-citizens and we weren't able to leave the country in time. Because we have not lived together for more than 12 months and don't have joint finances, the Aussie government is preventing him entering the country to be together for the birth, despite more than 20 character and professional references, Statutory Declarations and hundred's of pieces of evidence proving our public relationship and pregnancy.

This is our first child and it is breaking my heart that my own country is not allowing us to return in order to be in a safe environment with family.

Please help us create change by signing and sharing this petition. You could be the fundamental change between our daughter having both parents there during this crisis, or not.

With deep gratitude, Mez & Chris
