We have created this petition for the federal parliament to join COP26, COP26 is a 40+ nation agreement to officially phase out the use of coal. The Australian Government refused to join COP26 on the 16/11/21 because coal industries are one of the governments biggest money earners for our country, therefore they will not join the agreement. Australia produces 510 million tonnes of coal per year! Australia is also responsible for 3.6% of the worlds carbon emissions. Considering the impacts coal has on our environment and climate change this needs to be stopped. We are killing our planet and we can stop it.
