Australia Post false alleged parcel delivery attempts- cheating Australians daily
More often than not over the past 10 years or so, when expecting parcels to be delivered by Australia Post, I have received a deceitful note from Australia Post in my letter box stating that either nobody was home or the delivery driver couldn’t access the property, even though I had been home and there had been clear access to my property.
I have spoken to many other Australians that have experienced the same issue. It’s really unfair that Australians are getting ripped off daily by Australia Post who charge a fee for a service they do not actually provide. The delivery driver makes no attempt to deliver the parcel and just drops a false note and move on to finish their daily run as quick as possible so they can put their feet up for the day.
Customers are then burdened with a trip out to collect the parcel from a service centre at an inconvenient time and a day later than expected.
The last time this happened to me was on 5 January 2022. My family were all at home due to Covid isolation. We checked our letterbox at midday and found a notice from Australia Post saying that they’d tried to deliver a parcel but were unsuccessful and we needed to collect from the sorting office. This is untrue as we had already had 2 deliveries that day.
The complaints process with Australia Post is cumbersome and the issue is never rectified even if you do bother to go through with it.
Australia Post need to fix this deceitful tactic that their delivery drivers are undertaking as many Australian’s have no option but to rely on this service and are being taken advantage of.
If this has happened to you, please support my petition and sign up to have this rectified by Australia Post.
