Australia needs to put money into reducing climate change
The effects of climate change have caused a rapid rise in sea levels. But why isn’t the government factoring putting money into this issue in the budget, recently announced on Australian Television?
While the government is worried about the storm surges, likely to occur by the 21st century, why can’t they devote money in the budget to this pressing issue, in order to reduce the rapidly increasing insurance rates for the coastal towns? It was also reported last night on ABC News, that governments, as well as other sceptics, need to wake up, and reduce the number of carbon emissions by at least 80%, in order to keep below the 1.5*c global warming stated in the Paris agreement.
We need the government to wake up and put aside some money from the budget for climate change, rather than other less important issues that may win them votes in the upcoming elections.
Please, when you sign this petition, you are bringing us closer to persuading the governments to revise the budget and focus on what really matters to make a stronger economy for a stronger future.
