To unconditionally support a good man like Mr. Samuel, and to cry out for justice for his cause and condition, and at the same time, being supportive in faith and christian love to him.

This land is your land, this land is my land. Everyone has the right to camp anywhere on public property. It’s OUR land!

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory, Revelation 18:1

Police CANNOT SOLVE HOMELESSNESS, ONLY HOMES CAN! If only people could see the benefit in assisting these most in need as well as getting more rehabilitative and preventative programs for at risk youth, inmates and people upon re entry. The cost benefits for training and assisting people and creating productive members of society are FAR more beneficial to our community than locking people up. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE LICKING THEM UP SOLELY FOR having NO WHERE ELSE TO BE. OPEN YOUR EYES, HEARTS AND MINDS PEOPLE. IT IS VERY SIMPLE.

Homeless citizens in our city do not deserve to be criminalized and further stigmatized for our community’s lack of action. We need to solve the root cause of their - all of our - problem which is a lack of affordable housing!

I think people need services not incarceration (or endless tickets they cannot pay, etc). I understand that is an enormous and expensive challenge. I was very concerned at the level of hate and vitrol at a meeting I attended at Galindo Elementary last week (which I thought was informational but apparently not).

Anyone in Austin could become homeless. We cannot let poverty become a cycle of incarceration.
