AUST Fall Petition

AUST Fall Petition
To the administration of AUST.
To whom it may concern.
Following your official announcement concerning the fall semester, we would like to address a few points that are of a major concern to most AUST students.
First, due to the financial crisis and the inflation that has recently befallen the country, it has become necessary to increase the tuition fees to a reasonable value. However, adopting a dollar rate of 3900 LBP is unaffordable to students whose parents are collecting salaries at 1515 LBP. Hence, until the government increases the minimum wage, we kindly request that the dollar rate be decreased to an affordable value.
Secondly, concerning the system the university has adopted for the fall semester by giving the courses online during the first month of the semester, and then continuing them on campus for the rest of it; we would like to draw your attention to the fuel shortage the drastic increase in the fuel prices, and the unbearable waiting hours at the fuel stations that make physical attendance extremely difficult for students , not to mention that when the subsidies are completely lifted, the transportation fees (whether public or private) might even exceed the tuition fees.
To sum it up, we kindly request that the tuition fees be collected at a lower dollar rate, and the courses continue to be given online for the Fall Semester.
We believe that AUST has always worked hand in hand with the student body and will hopefully continue to do so.
The student body requests immediate attention to this letter.
Thank you for cooperation in this matter.
