City Administrator Investigation Case (Aurora, TX) 

Seeking Forensic Auditing to Aid Texas Ranger Investigation: 

- Through forensic auditing, investigation data output/conclusion and timeframe can be significantly expedited.  Approximately 3-6 months of conclusive data vs. two years.   

- Investigation of a broader spectrum: Can include investigating alternative revenue streams/involvement of other parties vs. a narrowed scope 

Scope of Forensic Audit: 

-           Identify all sources of income for the City and determine whether all funds collected, or expected to be collected, were deposited to the bank

-           Examine all bank accounts used by the City for expenditures that did not benefit the City’s purposes

-          Examine all payroll to the city manager and other employees for overpayments, unauthorized raises, bonuses

-          Examine all purchasing card purchases (if used) for expenditures that did not benefit the City’s purposes

-           Identify potential areas of collection for the City for loss recovery purposes

-          If a fidelity bond or employee theft insurance policy exists, prepare findings to collect insurance proceeds

-          Prepare a report to be used in any civil, criminal, and/or insurance proceedings.
