Give Rohingya people the right of citizenship in Myanmar

35 years ago, the Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar lost their right to citizenship due to the passage of the Myanmar Nationality Law. Since then, the Rohingya Muslims have been persecuted by the Buddhist majority country. Men are being slaughtered by government officers, women and young girls are being raped, and even young children are being beheaded and tossed into fires. Those who survive the government crackdowns are forced to flee the country to seek refuge in neighboring countries like Bangladesh.
In order for the persecution to be halted, the Rohingya people must first be acknowledged and protected by the law, and be given the right to acquire citizenship status.
It is time to intervene and mitigate the damage that has been done. It is time for the Rohingya people to have a home
