Why this petition matters

Started by Lucy Sanchez

The No Harm Policy had been implemented before as a safety net for those students who found it harder to work under the unexpected pressures of online schooling. It helped alleviate academic stress following Covid-19. However as we made our transition into our first semester this safety net was removed and students are being plagued by it.

The transition to online schooling has made it incredibly difficult for students to maintain the usual work ethic. Having to sit in front of a computer for 6+ hours and then spending another few doing online homework is insane. Its putting a huge strain on the students of Anaheim and lots of us are staggering against it. For this reason we are asking for the return of the No Harm Grading Policy, something that many other schools are also doing.

Laguna Beach Highschool District says, “When we’re at school and the bell rings, they get up and go to the next class. They know that this is their system. When they’re left, you’re talking about teenagers and younger kids, that when they’re left to try and figure it out on their own, that is why this system needs to be flexible so we can respond to those situations and aren’t doing harm to those students"
