Why this petition matters

Started by Lacey Evans

I have recently learned that elementary schools in our district are reducing their cohorts from 60 to class size. Doing so greatly reduces each child’s exposure from 60 to about 20/30.  With having two or more children going back to school our families will be exposed to 120+ children and their families blowing up our recommended 10 person bubble to possibly hundreds.

I believe that in reopening our schools we should be as safe as possible for not just the children but also the community as a whole.  With your support I would like to ask our local elementary school to reduce the cohorts to class size for the time being.  Once we see how the province is doing for case numbers in response to schools reopening it would be a logical next step to move to larger cohorts.

I am asking for your support in keeping our children, families and community safe in this uncertain time.  Let’s reduce our exposure by reducing cohort size.

Please sign the petition in support of smaller cohorts!

With that being said I am forever grateful to all teachers and school staff for all of their time and effort!  We will never be able to thank you enough!
