Dutty Mas at Notting Hill Carnival

As we know Notting Hill Carnival runs for 2 days, it has been a tradition that "Dutty Mas" floats are present during the Children's day of Carnival which is on a Sunday.
It is primarily known as the "J'ouvert Celebration" which in French is "Jour Ouvert" which means "opening of the day". J'ouvert is an important part of the Caribbean carnivals.
However it has been reported that from 2018, there will no longer be any dutty mas floats parading the streets of Notting Hill Carnival as it is having a "negative impact" on the Children's day.
It has been a tradition that has brought both masqueraders and the community together as it is different and delivers both a vibrant and joyful experience.
This tradition is proof of our need as humans to let go of our daily worries and to let go of ourselves just this once.
