VICTORY! You helped save Professor Adamo’s job!
Mar 12, 2019 —
History Prof Phil Adamo was threatened with losing his job, but supporters like you kept that from happening. Thank you!
Augsburg’s administration pulled Adamo from his classroom without due process. The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) told Augsburg's administration that this violated academic freedom. With your help, Augsburg President Pribbenow heard that message. Now it's time to thank him for doing the right thing.
Click here to send a note to President Pribbenow, thanking him for returning Professor Adamo to the classroom. A suggested text is available. You are free to edit this in any way you like, perhaps including something about your connections to Augsburg or Prof. Adamo.
And you can stay involved. Follow and make a donation to the AAUP Foundation and to FIRE, two organizations that were central in helping to save Prof. Adamo's job. You can also donate to help Prof. Adamo off-set legal costs.
Finally, while Prof. Adamo will be returning to the classroom next fall, he will also continue his work as an advocate for academic freedom. To read excerpts from the memoir he's writing about the events at Augsburg, and/or to find out about his other work as a teacher, writer, and historian, visit www.phillip-adamo.com. Once again, a huge thank you!
