Term limits, on congressional reps of the state of California

Term limits, on congressional reps of the state of California

The Issue

We the people, of the great state of California, in order to have a more open government. To promote the influx of new ideas, and have more transparency on our current Representatives in Congress of the United States Of American. We request a state wide limit on Congressional Representatives, and their terms in serving the People, to be limited to the lifetime amount of years in office as Representatives of the Great State of California, to be set at a maximum of eight years.

To ensure, there are new ideas and ways to Represent the will of the people, to undue the Status Quo, and promote a more transparent government for the People of the State of California. We request an end to the same system and individuals, who represent us on issues of Congress, that do not have our Great State’s best interest in mind. These limits, would ensure, a vital reassessment with fresh eyes on problem solving for the United States Of America.

We need these limits, to also promote new people into office, and end the dogma of how our nation is governed. To illustrate to the other states in our union, that the Great State of California will be the leaders in new and innovative thinking and to follow suit and bring about real change in Congress.

To promote a more fair and equal access to government these changes are needed. People are generally apathetic when it comes to voting issues and allow the same legislators to languish in office, often for decades or lifetimes. While is it generally understood, the will of the Nation’s people, do desire term limits on Congressional leaders, Congress itself is unwilling to enact the changes to meet the will of the people. They claim the will of the people is represented in duly legal elections. Yet, those elections are always skewed toward the incumbent, because low voter turnout feeds the general malaise in the election process as a whole. Because Congress turns a blind eye to the “Will of the People” they will not enact this law on their own.

It is therefore needed to be done at a state level, instead of Congressional Law, as sitting members of Congress refuse to set limits on themselves. When Congress itself will no longer care for the will of the people they say they represent, then it is up to the states to enact a law to ensure the will of the people at least be put to a vote. California has always been the state to set the example of how law should be created. We could start the movement, to enact term limits on Congressional leaders, by showing the nation we are serious about holding our members of Congress accountable for their actions, and that this is not a lifetime appointment. Our founding fathers thought of political office as a burden, not a job for life. To ensure the will of the people be met, by new members who would know they have a limited time, to do great things for the People of The Great State of California. It would be an incentive to do great things, as California have always done, with fresh and innovative thinking.

We call on the Great Seal of the Attorney General, to ensure, this reaches a ballot level vote, for all of the people of the Great State of California. That the interest of the California voters, be made mandatory in all aspects of California Government.
