This is just common sense. For I am so sorry for your senseless loss. RIP Paul.
My son died at the hands of an LEO driving 83mph in a 45mph zone, with NO flashing lights or sirens activated, which is against their department's policy. Although he was crossing against the light, my son was crossing in the crosswalk at a well lite intersection. The LEO was going to a non -emergent call.

As a mother, a wife of a law enforcement officer, and as a lawyer, I am highly offended by the Prius ads which make light of criminal behavior and dangerous car chases. Bank robberies are never amusing and are always dangerous for all involved. This idea was simply the worst. Irresponsible corporate behavior. Disappointing.

It is time to empower officers with training and techniques to reduce unnecessary police pursuits and to help save lives including those of pursuing police officers!

Law Enforcement must be held accountable at a level higher than any minimum. I cannot and will never understand why the supporting governments of law officers do not discipline those involved in these completely avoidable tragedies. Life lost for traffic violations? Forever unacceptable.

Today after tragic loss of life: "Lt. John Herrell with the Lake County Sheriff's Office says that any crime, even one as simple as a traffic violation, justifies deputies in engaging in a police chase according to department policy"
