In light of the discoveries of unmarked graves at residential schools across the country I am calling on Members of Parliment (MPs) to request that Attorney General David Lametti, Minister of Justice appoint an independent, special prosecutor, immediately that has the power and resources to conduct a thorough and  comprehensive investigation into residential schools, day schools, sanitoriums and anywhere that Indigenous children and peoples have faced decades of violence and abuse at the hands of the genocidal partnership between the federal government and church organizations. 

We need justice for these forgotten lives.  We need to hold those who are responsible for this genocide accountable!  This is an important step in recognizing the genocide so we can start to dismantle the oppressive systems and policies that were created because of it.  These systems and policies continue to discriminate against Indigenous people today!  Look no further than Canada’s Child and Family Services where Indigenous children are vastly over represented.
