Sick and tired of constant souped up engine noise in the suburbs - especially in the wee hours of morning!

Our laws show our values. Do we value car companies over human lives? Of our kids, neighbours, family members, friends…? It is long overdue to push back forcefully against the culture of dangerous, aggressive and careless driving in our country. We have been reckless by allowing fatalities and injuries to add up, stopping people from even feeling comfortable doing the most basic of activities - walking or cycling to work, for example. Or stopping disabled and elderly people from being more independent. I am signing this petition because I agree that something must be done to take a stand and stop turning away from this persistent and devastating problem.

Streets are too dangerous. I am put at risk constantly while walking and cycling on shared public infrastructure. Cars are not toys. Streets are not playgrounds. Putting people at risk and otherwise degrading the livability of communities with dangerous driving is not a momentary lapse in judgment but a reckless criminal choice and should be punished accordingly.

The leniency shown dangerous driving is a complete abdication of responsibility by government. Show everyone this is a serious problem demanding serious solutions for people who have contempt for road safety.

The risks to our health from the racing, and noise that is created from drivers of motorbikes and car has skyrocketed this year. The WHO says anything above 55dBA is harmful to our health and my condo had readings of 70dB over a 24 hour period. Haven't had a good nights sleep in my home for a very long time.

Cars exaust systems are getting insanely loud. They sit at lights reving their engine up to rediculous levels for no reason but to wake people up for blocks.

I'm encouraged to see some action is finally being considered to control this noise. Just another example of how many just think of catering to themselves at the expense of others.
