NCAA change your policy about bowl game statistics prior to 2002. Add Ron Dayne's yardage!
This petition had 1,506 supporters
NCAA policy currently states that statistics from bowl games prior to the 2002 season are not included in final football statistics. This means that players who set records prior to 2002 did not have their bowl game yardage counted, but players after 2002 are getting to count the yardage from their bowl games. This makes no sense.
The NCAA haven't retroactively changed the totals for anyone who played in bowl games before 2002. This is unfair to Ron Dayne and ALL the players who set records prior to 2002! Ron Dayne finished with 6,397 yards with the Badgers from 1996-1999. BUT if his 728 rushing yards from his four bowl games with UW were counted Dayne's total would be 7,125 yards. Donnel Pumphrey from San Diego St has 6,405 and would not have "broken" Dayne's record in his bowl game. Respect to Pumphrey, but a record is a record.
I started this petition because the NCAA can't have it both ways!
Will you please help by adding your name? Our goal is to reach 1000+ signatures and we need your support.
All the players who set records prior to 2002 deserve to have their bowl yardage counted!
Thanks and let's raise our voices!
