OFF RESERVE ATTAWAPISKAT BAND MEMBERS

Off reserve members are part of the the Attawapiskat First Nation and we have rights under the Indian Act to be included in the elections/ voting. In order to be fair to all members, the First Nation must allow off reserve members to vote.  As off reserve members, we still have a say and want to be included in what our leaders are doing for us as a whole. In the past they had voting locations set up in a few locations off reserve to include the off reserve members. It has recently come to my attention that they have changed the way they are voting by only having voting station placed on the Attawapiskat First Nation community, it is not economically feasible   for the off reserve members to fly in and out of the community to place our votes. Please sign this petition in support of our rights as members to have a voice.
