Atrium Health - Stop at Loop Rd. Save Our Neighborhood
We can all agree that having a top-rated healthcare system is important to a thriving, vibrant, and expanding city such as Charlotte, but when that same system begins to impede upon the neighborhoods, families, and homes of those it serves with potential over-development that is where we have a problem. We are asking for Atrium Health to be more transparent in their planning and communication as it relates to their latest rezoning plans that will affect the residential streets of Garden Terrace, Fountain View, and Lombardy Circle. We are asking that they "stop at Loop Road" as they continue to develop and edit their plans going forward. This will save neighborhood and family homes, a long-standing and much loved tree canopy, and help to preserve a thriving neighborhood of families, friends, and neighbors. We are also asking that Charlotte City Council and the Department of Transportation think more about the lasting negative effects this possible expansion past Loop Road could have. Again, having access to a level-1 trauma hospital system and medical school is a privilege, but why do we have to ruin a neighborhood to get it?
